                  In 2010 Brazil’s federal government adopted the
                  ‘ABC Plan’ – an ambitious initiative to add impetus
                  to the consolidation of low carbon emissions in
                  Brazilian agriculture while sustaining economic
                  growth in the sector. The ABC Plan consists of sev-
                  en programs, six of which are related to the devel-
                  opment of sustainable production and mitigation
                  technologies and the final program to climate
                  change adaptation:
